My daughters attend gymnastics classes at High Flight Gymnastics in downtown Asheville. When my daughter decided she wanted to join an extra circular sport she was really interested in cheerleading. I did some research for cheerleading in the Asheville, NC area and found one place that offered cheerleading but it was a 45 minute drive to get there and then 45 minutes to get home. Just the idea of the drive alone was overwhelming, so we looked into some alternatives. With her interest in cheerleading we knew we wanted something that could benefit her if she was to get into cheerleading later on. We found High Flight Gymnastics and took their trial class for free. My daughter loved it.
We have now been attending classes there for 3 years. For the first couple weeks she mentioned cheerleading but not again since then. She has advanced many levels and is truly happy to be a gymnast.
They have follies at the end of the Winter & Spring sessions. It is a great event for the children to show what they have learned. Each child gets display two routines, usually a floor routine and either a beam or bar routine. At the first folly each child receives a medal and every folly following it they receive a trophy which is gets larger each folly. My daughter has a wonderful collection and each time she receives a new one she is so excited to show everyone.
Now my younger daughter is old enough to join an extra circular activity and of course gymnastics was our choice. On her first day of class she asked if she was going to get her trophy. We are very happy with High Flight Gym and its teachers. They have a parent’s area upstairs where I sit with my laptop and I am able to watch my daughters and know they are safe.
I would recommend anyone looking to get their son or daughter involved in an activity to check it out, their first class is always free! I am very glad we did.
